Replacement fire steel rods (3 pk) for use with the Contour Feather Knife.

Threaded end will easily attach to the Contour Feather Knife Sheath.

Made from ferrocerium (“ferro rods“).

Having a ferro rod incorporated into your knife or sheath, just makes sense. It lasts longer than storm or waterproof matches for what you can carry. It’s easier than a bow drill or a fire plough. Electronic fire starters need recharging and chemical reactants have a risk.  And you don’t require the sun for a magnifying device.

Although any of these methods for fire may be used in a variety of survival situations, a ferro rod and a good knife are good choice for just in case emergencies. They can be kept in a glove box or console, in a kit or as an everyday carry tool / knife combo.
